Thank you to Best Buy for sponsoring this post.
It’s December 1 – are you done with your holiday shopping yet? Contrary to the Black Friday messaging that you need to get all of your shopping done the day after Thanksgiving, I don’t think many of us are actually done yet. I got several great deals for Black Friday, but a few of those items were just for us, not for gifts. We still have a handful of gifts that we need to find for friends and family members.
Best Buy is one of the best destinations for all your technology and appliance product gifting needs this holiday. On Thanksgiving night, BestBuy.com was where I went to buy Cordy’s most-wanted gift this year, a Nintendo 3DS in blue. (No, no, I wasn’t about to go fight the crowds that night!) I got it for a great price, and I know she’s going to love it.
It’s also where I went for my new laptop last year. When I had a blue screen of death moment on my former laptop, I had to suddenly get a new one without any preparation. The folks I spoke with at Best Buy took the time to go over new features and differences between the laptops to help me make my choice.
The Blue Shirts and Geek Squad Agents are passionate, highly trained, knowledgeable and impartial so they can help ensure you get the perfect gifts for your family and friends…and yourself, in my case. I appreciated the no-pressure help they provided when I had to make that sudden choice between a line of laptops that looked mostly the same with greatly varying prices. (And they didn’t push the more expensive ones at all, based on what I told them I needed.)
At Best Buy, you can find a market-leading selection of the hottest tablets, smartphones, gaming consoles and titles, wearable technology, health and fitness gear, mobile accessories and much more. Did you know they also have a team of Geek Squad folks for help installing, repairing, troubleshooting, optimizing and offering all sorts of technical advice from every Best Buy store, in-home, online and by phone?
My mom had the welcome surprise of winning an iPad Mini at the Blue Jackets hockey game on Friday. (I know, she’s SO lucky, right? I’m terribly jealous.) Besides knowing that I’d be getting some calls from her on how to set it up, I also realized that she’ll be needing some accessories to go with it.
So I’ll be visiting Best Buy to buy her a case for her iPad, along with a screen protector and other useful items she might need, and giving them to her for Christmas. Their Low Price Guarantee will ensure I’m getting the most competitive price possible. And with the combination of bestbuy.com and their 1,400 stores, they’re able to offer the ultimate showroom to touch, test, try and buy the latest technology.
I’m fascinated with how quickly technology is evolving and becoming increasingly complex. Probably my greatest fear is reaching the point where my kids are MY tech support – I never want to lose my excitement over new technology.
And for now I’m happy to serve as tech support for older members of my family, although there are times when I do point them to other specialists who have a better idea on certain topics than me. Best Buy is here to help make it easy for them to choose the products and services that work best for them. Or to serve as a backup to my opinion when a certain family member doesn’t believe my suggestions.
