For my first attempt at a garden, I think it’s going pretty well. My mom wouldn’t even let me plant-sit for her when I was younger, knowing I’d kill everything on accident on the first day, but now I’m keeping plants alive! And hey, it isn’t even quite as hard as keeping children alive!

Broccoli
Thankful for the cool weather & rain – finally!

Future green peppers
We’ve already had several harvests of the broccoli, and it’s delicious. My lettuce has also been harvested and we have plenty of basil and cilantro to spice the neighborhood. I can’t wait until the zucchini, cucumbers and green peppers are ready to eat.
Thus far, I’d have to say that starting my own vegetable garden was a very good idea.
Wonderful! Good for you! Beautiful pix, too.
Great job! Jealous myself as we tried to plant one here and we have too many rocks on our small piece of property. And bricks as there was a road directly behind our house. Sigh.
I am so proud of you!!! The deer are making off with all our good stuff this year. :0(
Very cool! I love the pics, they make me want to go survey my garden and see what it’s doing. How much zucchini did you plant? Be prepared to be rolling in it by the time it’s done producing!
Those pictures are gorgeous! I can’t wait to see the green peppers, since I know the most about those. I’m eager to have my own yard so I can start a vegetable garden of my own — maybe my dad can give me some pointers so I don’t kill everything off.
Your garden looks great! This year I’m just doing a container herb garden. I just started picking and drying herbs to use during the winter. That’s as close to canning and preserves as I get for now 🙂
I am totally jealous. I also planted broccoli which was immediately rabbit food despite the fence I put up (still trying to figure out how that happened). At least the zucchini is okay as are my herbs.
Oh well, maybe next year.
