You Leave Them Alone For Two Minutes…

There are times when I wonder how my two daughters can possibly be related. They do have some similar features, but while Cordelia is pale, blonde and curly-headed, Miranda is olive-skinned, brunette, and so far has straight hair. While Cordy always respected boundaries as a baby, Mira is the jailbreaker. Cordy was an early talker, and late walker. Mira is an early walker, and not interested in talking much. The slightest hint of my disapproval would send Cordy into tears, but Mira laughs at my attempts to correct her. Two girls could not be more different.

And then there are times when I see a hint of baby Cordy in Mira. Like today.

Cordy, 2005 – 13 months old

Mira, 2008 (this morning) – 11 months old

This is what they both choose to do when I walk out of the room for two minutes.

They’re clearly sisters.

  1. My kids were all about kleenex and cheerios. So been there!
Great pictures. They are both so precious!!

  2. all too familiar…walked into the family room the other day to find a roll of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels wrapped around the couch/loveseat/train table. too funny!

Would it make you feel better if I told you my dog did the same thing to a box of tissues shortly after he came to live with us? Apparently real kids and fur kids really like to play with tissue boxes. Why?

  4. haha that is so funny! yesterday I walked in on Tatum rolling all of the TP off of the roll … now we are shutting all of the doors – haha

    great pictrues! great sisters!

  5. There’s just something too unresistable about a box of tissues.

    They’re such cuties.

  6. that’s hilarious!! and i love that you have photo evidence of both of those sneaky girls!

  7. And then you shove the tissue back in the box thinking you can still use it all, but every time you try to pull one out it either rips or you all the tissues comes right back out. I usually end up tossing the whole thing out. I was much more environmentally friendly before I had kids.

  8. What is it about kids and toilet paper/tissues?

Love those photos! Such pretty little girls!

  9. Oh those are excellent!

And my boys are night and day different in their actions too!

The first one is a trick to lull you into a false sense of “Hey, this isn’t so bad! I can do this!” First-time mommy thing.

Then BAM! the second comes and proves your first was “easy”!

They must be related to my son, too.

  11. I live in your world!!! My 13 month old just did this very thing

  12. They are both SOO cute!!! Im not sure why tissues and TP are SO fascinating, but they are.

  13. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! That is hilarious. I think you should put one of each of those pictures (er, I mean one of Cordy and one of Mira) in a two-photo frame and hang it up on the wall for posterity. That is beautiful.

  14. See, if they were related to Evan, only half as many would be out of the box but the ones that were would all be shredded like a pack of chickens had been scratching its way through.

Do chickens come in packs? : )
