Today is our first themed haiku day! I know, we should have given you more notice, and we will in the future. But when Jennifer found out about Neil’s plan for this Friday to be “Write Like the Opposite Sex Day,” we both agreed it was perfect. If you want to join in, please do, but don’t feel like you have to. We’re still happy to read haiku about any topic.
I realize my haiku today is the epitome of stereotype. You can blame my husband – I asked him what a guy would write a haiku about, and this is what he gave me. And just think – he’s an artsy-type of guy. Imagine what your average NASCAR-dad would suggest!

Oh my, I apologize for not following the theme…I was not able to play last Friday…though I was here hours ago, I only got the part where you were planning…anyway, I will make it up next time!

P.S. I usually do haiku when I am a bit emotional and I’m flooded with too much words…so I try to simplify them through haiku. 😉

Oh thank goodness others didn’t follow the theme… I also tend to do like mariposa said, simplifying deep “stuff” sometimes through haiku.
This was pretty darn funny, though, for a theme, and yours rocks!

Can’t believe it’s almost 3pm (here in So Cal) and I’m just now posting my 2nd Haiku. This day has gotten away from me totally … so I may be visiting throughout the weekend because I’m way behind on everything. Happy Friday to all!!!
