Haiku Friday: A Surreal Experience

Yesterday I was
on my college campus and
walking to my car

“Hey, baby,” he said.
I looked up to see a car
right in front of me.

He had long dark hair
And he couldn’t have been more
than twenty years old

“Do you want a ride?”
His eyebrows raised as he said
this bad pick up line.

I glanced behind me
Who, me? I thought to myself
Is this a cruel joke?

He was serious.
Didn’t he know I’m at least
ten years his elder?

I was tired and
didn’t look my best for sure.
Could this shirt have helped?

Mominatrix shirts: they’ll make younger men hit on you.
My thanks to you, dude,
I don’t know why you did it,
But I am flattered.

It’s been a long time
Since a guy who isn’t my
husband hit on me.

You helped me to feel
sexy again. I’m more than
just a frumpy mom!

And so I must say
I am very sorry that
I laughed in your face.

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below or at Jennifer’s blog with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). DON’T sign unless you have a haiku this week. If you need help with this, contact Jennifer or myself.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button at the top.

REMEMBER: Do not post your link unless you have a haiku this week! We will delete any links without haiku!

  6. Wow! What a great day – and a great shirt!

  7. I love the shirt. I think the last time I was hit on was by a guy I thought was hanging around because of my daughter. If anyone offered me a ride now I’d know it’s because he thinks I’m his granny. lol

  8. Love how you developed the story in Haiku!

    And wow!

  9. Hawttt! That’s you on that shirt!

  10. Ha! That’s awesome. Still got it!

  11. Pretty you and cute ‘ku. 🙂

  12. Oh, I LOVE it when that happens! Not that it has recently. I think I’m gonna have to get me one of those shirts!

Your story in a poem was great! I have up my second Haiku ever – not half as good as yours, but I’m trying!

  13. That would have made my YEAR! You still got it! 🙂

  14. Alright! Way to go! My haiku is about a pair of jeans that makes me feel like I’m 20-something again!

  20. Hilarious story!! I think I may go buy a shirt, just for that…

  21. wow! so who was the first person you called? cuz i so would have had to call someone as soon as i was in the privacy of my own car. and possibly tried to snap a few very discreet pics as proof… heck, i might have just out right asked him if i could take a picture!!

  22. Great Ku and Go You!

BTW, The last few weeks some of the URL’s on the Linky do NOT have a Haiku, unless I am missing it somewhere.

  23. How delightful this
    haiku and experience!
    That is ‘some’ t-shirt ;–)

    Hugs and blessings,

  24. LOL. You do you look hot in that shirt!

  25. I’d have laughed too.

And yeah, the shirt is pretty awesome!

  26. Wow! Did you blush?

  27. If those shirts could make my rack look that good, I’ll buy 30! One for every day of the month 😉

Love the haiku….and his pick up line 🙂

  28. what is mom of two the new hot chick? i had two guys flirting with me at work yesterday…granted they were something like 60, but being hit on is being hit on….lol

  29. Ha! I’m sure I’d feel flattered too. Can’t remember the last time that happened…

  30. LOL That is GREAT! Awesome.

I had a similar experience at Starbucks a coupla months ago — I’m still thinking about it!

  31. Ohhh myyy!
Nice to be noticed, now and then, ha? And the rest of us got to read a great haiku!

  34. island jen says

Bad line I heard while walking my kids (one in stroller)…
    “Hey Mother, want another??”
    was it ‘good’ or bad??

  35. I couldn’t help but laugh. It was such a strange moment for me that laughing was the only response.

And yeah, amazingly comfortable shirt. It does make the girls look bigger, too. The rack is really quite modest in size in real life.

  36. MamaMichelsBabies says

Um.. I’m a chick and straight and I may have hit on you as well.. holy crap. Sorry but I have a deep respect for the well racked. Years of envy does that to a person.

I love that you laughed! I’d have stood there kinda stupid and got in the car.

    Great ku!

  37. i’m pretty sure the last time i was hit on ANYONE other than my husband was when i was in, um, high school…

  38. motherbumper says

That is freakin’ awesome baby. It’s cos you are getting so hot for blogher AND the t-shirt 😉

  39. Must get that shirt!!

  40. Lol! Did you say “I was giving rides when you were in diapers, sonny!”

  41. Gemini Greetings says
