Foreclosure is awful, but
We will not miss you
No more broken fence
or boys peeing in our yard
No more peeping toms
The cops won’t visit
We’ll enjoy our yard again
In relative peace
So goodbye to you
I’d say I wish you well but
That would be a lie
Words can’t describe how thrilled I am. It feels like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Living next to such vicious, uncivilized people, feeling like we had no control over our own property, was truly stressful. We can now spend our spring fixing up the damage they caused to our property, knowing they will no longer be around to further damage our fence, scratch our car, destroy our lawn, and dump their trash all over our yard.
I have no idea how long the house will sit empty. From what I saw of the house, I know the damage inside has to be massive. (I once watched one of the young boys take their garden hose to the front door and spray water into the living room for at least two minutes.) I’m hoping for a nice older couple to be the next residents. Preferably a nice older couple who like children.
Have a great weekend, everyone! I’ll be incommunicado for the next few days!
To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:
1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.
2. Sign the Mister Linky below or at Jennifer’s blog with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). DON’T sign unless you have a haiku this week. If you need help with this, contact Jennifer or myself.
3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button at the top.
REMEMBER: Do not post your link unless you have a haiku this week!
That has to be such a relief!
I had neighbors like that, too. We threw a party when they had to leave. Happy day indeed!
Happy Hai-day!
Sad you can’t claim damages. Sounds like a load of stress has been lifted–congrats!
Congratulations to you; what a blessed relief. I’m so thankful for the ousting of the feral neighbors.
LOL. Have you thought about putting this on a card and passing it along as a “going away” present… because they totally deserve it. 🙂
Whoa! The jerks are gone? Awesome!
Hai-ku-lujah, indeed. You crack me up. : )
Wow, I don’t blame you for being happy that they’re gone!
Oh wow, so glad for you that they’re gone.
What a relief when lousy neighbors move out! Hope you get someone good to replace them. Have a nice weekend!
I’m happy they’re gone and sincerely hope your new neighbors are more sensitive, cooperative, and friendly.
Hugs and blessings,
glad they’re gone. hope your new neighbors are just what you want and that they really really want to cook dinner for you whole family every night.
No more phantom garbage cans too! God that was a funny story…
Congratulations Christina!
Goodness, sounds like a blessing to me! Bad neighbors can make your life miserable.
I’m so glad you will now have some peace. It’s not fun when other people invade your privacy and stuff. 🙁
This is my first Haiku Friday. What a great meme. 🙂
Good riddance to bad neighbors!
Hi, I found you through Playgroups Are No Place for Children, who I found through Chicken and Cheese, who I found through NaBloPoMo… (who told a friend who a told a friend…)
Thanks for the Haiku Friday! It’s nice to play with y’all.
Oh my gosh! THey sound horrible. That’s WAY worse than what I’ve been dealing with. YIKES!
Am now doing a “jig of joy” on your behalf. heehee.
We had neighbors that were intrusive and in-your face. Our neighborhood threw a block party when they moved. While we didn’t deal with the troubles you have, I can relate to being rid of pain in the buttski neighbors! Congrats!
And,yes, today is my anniversary! Happy 5th to you and Aaron!
“feral neighbors” HA!
I may have to steal that one. I’ve got a few myself.
We had bad neighbors like that at one point. It’s amazing how much stress it causes. We didn’t even really understand it completely until they left. It was just one GIANT thing to not have to worry about. Heaven. I’m thrilled for you.
I hope your new neighbors are nice people. Congrats on being rid of the ferals.
Congrats on getting rid of bad neighbors. I feel kind of bad for the kids, because with their parents having their house foreclosed on, those poor kids most likely won’t have a “house” again 🙁
Congratulations! How exciting for you.
That’s great news!!!! You must be so thrilled.
It’ll be awhile before you get neighbors I bet. Foreclosures tend to sit for a long time.
YAY! How nice that they’re finally gone! Here’s hoping you have great new neighbors!
They’re gone?! That’s great news! I remember all of your tales. I relate to the joy you feel when you see the moving van out in front of the homes of bad neighbors – it’s total glee but fear that you might somehow be wrong. So I get why you waited to post about it. Congrats for outlasting them. You deserve some hermits.
Congratulations on losing your neighbors!
yeah lets party! That is GREAT they are gone! I hope the next one’s are wonderful!
High five! Awesome – what a wonderful way to end the week 🙂
Yes! It is so important to have ggod neighbors. I’ll keep my fingers crossed you’ll end up with some nice family.
Feral neighbors…I got a chuckle out of that, though I imagine the stress of that has to be immense. Good neighbors are so priceless. Fingers crossed that some move in next door.
With the neighbours gone, whatever will you blog about 😉
Here’s hoping for a nice old couple who love small children.
“feral neighbors”– so funny!
Good riddance! Glad they’re gone 🙂
