Haiku Friday: A Guest Haiku

Dishes are piling
Puzzles, trains, and more scattered
The floors are a fright

I’ve had some fresh air
It’s been like summer outside
Time to get cracking

Unmotivated
Perhaps it’s a lack of sleep?
Or of nutrition.

So I’m not cleaning
Guest posting haiku instead
Who needs a clean house?

– Special thanks to McMama for guest haiku’ing for me this week!

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below or at Jennifer’s blog with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). DON’T sign unless you have a haiku this week. If you need help with this, contact Jennifer or myself.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button at the top.

REMEMBER: Do not post your link unless you have a haiku this week! We will delete any links without haiku!

  1. My first time to join…I’ve been wanting to and finally got my first Haiku Friday!

    Happy Haiku-ing everyone!

  2. Nice ‘Ku McMama! I decided to put together a toddler bed yesterday, and ignore the dirty house. Was too tired to clean today because said toddler was up and down all night enjoying his new found freedom.

    Happy Friday!

  3. Back again…McMama’s link seemed not to work?

  4. I am SO glad this week is over!

    Happy Haiku-ing!

  5. My links are working ok for me. Stinking blogger. If you really wanna know, you can click through my profile to the blog. 🙂

  11. I just posted my first haiku! Woot!

  12. Great Ku- Clean houses are way overrated. My kids make the mess behind me. No sense in cleaning up until they are in bed. Oh but alas, it will start over the next day!

  13. Melissa is so right:
“And a clean house is seriously overrated.” 🙂

  14. Someone once gave me a refrigerator magnet that says, “A clean house is the sign of a sick mind.” There are limits to the amount of time I’ll devote to any kind of housework … but blogging is another story ;–)

My 2nd ‘ku is up at my ‘other’ blog finally. I’ve enjoyed visiting the first folks on the list and will get to the rest when time permits.

    Hugs and blessings,

  15. Like my grandma used to say, “Quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep. I’m rocking my baby. Because babies don’t keep!” There will always be dishes to do…and a house to clean. Enjoy your time outside.

I am back after quite the hiatus and recovering from surgery.

  16. Head Gaggler says

I know how you feel. I forced myself to clean this week cause it was a disaster! My Haiku is about how stupid I am!!

  17. this is intimidating! It was fun too though. Happy Friday.

  20. Found some of my poet-blogger friends in here . . . . and I just HAD to play too. How fun!

    Here’s another one:

    A houseful of whim,
Cake and ice cream energy –
    Slumber party here tonight.

    Blessings,
    Linda
