I get it. Everyone is so busy with NaBloMoBananaFanaFoSho that we’re all having trouble keeping up with the crushing number of posts flooding our blog readers. I know I’ve got over 300 posts staring back at me in Bloglines, just daring me to hit the Mark All Read button.
So to make it easier on everyone, I’ll skip a long post, and instead give you a day-before-Thanksgiving recap of my week in pictures, with limited commentary, requiring no deep thought.
Aaron and I went to a wedding over the weekend. It was our first chance in a long, long time to dress up, go out without kids, eat a nice meal, drink, socialize with friends, and dance. I didn’t want to come home. We need more engaged friends so we can go to more weddings.
A typical Monday – Mira gazing adoringly at her big sister, wanting to be noticed, and Cordy ignoring her. It’s so rare to get a picture of the two of them this close together, so I’m thrilled I took this picture.
Tuesday, I got the chance to have brunch with the fabulous Tammie and finally meet the way-too-cute-for-words Myles! He and Mira smiled at each other across the table while we talked. And Tammie brought me Key Limes – we’ll be having Key Lime bars as a dessert at Thanksgiving now. Yum!
Some days, you can’t get to this moment fast enough. Oh, and notice the rocket in her bed? I have a review of that rocket at Mommy’s Must Haves today.
The newest Sith Lord – Darth Cordy. If only I could Photoshop in some force lightning. That sums up today so far.
Darth Cordy… We have a Darth Rinny over here…
I love the pumpkin in her bed. That is SO typically little kid!
Wonderful photos, thank you for sharing. Your little ones are very adorable, love the photo of Mira looking at big sis, too cute!
Yay for a review in pics! 🙂 Those are great. 🙂 YUM! I heart Panera.
love the photos … what a great treat to get dressed up and have a night for adults!
Love the day in pics – I may have to steal that idea!
…shhh. I marked all read the other day because I was contracting and so behind and I just wanted to CRYYYYYYYY.
What a great “week in review” type of post. Love the photos. My favorite is the two girls.
Glad to see that Squeaks isn’t the only one who goes to bed with random toys lined up around the edge! They vary every day, but there’s always something there!
Glad that pic came out so well, I was afraid of redeye given the environment.
You and the hub look so happy in that picture. You definitely need to find more engaged friends so that you can go to more weddings. Maybe you could start trolling TheKnot.com or maybe just search the registries at Target and Pottery Barn for people in Columbus. : )
Hooray, I’m so glad you and Aaron got a night out together – looks like you had a great time. I love the rest of the pictures too, and I know exactly what you mean about Mira wanting Cordy’s attention so badly. All of The Bug’s interpersonal-type vocabulary (thank you, sorry, please, etc.) comes with Sweet Pea’s name attached, and so often Sweet Pea doesn’t even hear! I keep pointing out to her how adored she is but she is only interested some of the time. As a little sister three times over, it breaks my heart to see our family’s little sister’s adoration ignored.
I’m amazed that Cordy can get to sleep with all that stuff in her bed – Sweet Pea could never even take one stuffed animal to bed until she was about 3 without being distracted by it. The Bug doesn’t see stuff so easily when she’s sleepy but out of habit with Sweet Pea, I don’t put anything into her bed either. Sleep is hard enough to come by around here! BUT I remember when I was a kid I took all sorts of stuff to bed with me too, and lined it up around the edge just like Cordy does! ha ha!
When I said I’m a “little sister three times over,” I meant that I have three older siblings. I don’t know if that was clear or just sounded weird. ha ha!
I can’t believe I’m just getting back online now after my trip north. It was great to see you and we LOVE the hip carrier. Thanks SO much!
I’ve also made plans to return to C-town next week as Jeff is traveling and I don’t want to spend the week by myself. So, let me know if you can spare some time to get together.
